Enshrouded 1.0 is live. Keen Games' survival crafting RPG left Early Access on October 15, 2026, shipping on PC through Steam and, on the same day, making its debut on PlayStation 5. It took more than two and a half years to get here: Early Access on Steam started on January 24, 2024.

If you have been watching from the sidelines, the 1.0 label is the signal many players wait for. This post covers what is verified, what is not, and what you should check before you spend money. We also close with a short roundup of other game news from October 15 and 16.

What exactly launched on October 15?

The headline is simple. Version 1.0 arrived on Steam and PS5 on the same day. GamesMarket, a trade outlet, reported that the game was "finally being released as version 1.0 today" and that it had been "amassing over 5.5 million players" during Early Access. You can read their full item on the GamesMarket launch report.

The same report says the studio plans to "support the game with free and paid content for years to come." That line matters. It tells you 1.0 is a milestone, not an ending. It also tells you to expect paid add-ons, which the Steam store page already hints at with a Deluxe Upgrade Pack and a soundtrack.

One honest caveat: we did not find a long first-party patch note for the 1.0 build on the Steam page. The Steam store page shows the release date of October 15, 2026 and the Early Access start date, but no named 1.0 changelog in the text we could read. If a feature list matters to your decision, check Keen Games' own announcements before buying.

Is Enshrouded on PS5, and what about Xbox?

PS5 is confirmed by the launch report. A pre-launch guide from hosting company Shockbyte also mentioned PS5 Pro support. We could not match that to a first-party page, so we mark PS5 Pro details as reported, not verified.

Xbox is a different story. The same Shockbyte guide says Xbox Series X and S is planned for spring 2027. That is a single third-party source, so do not plan a purchase around it. If you play on Xbox, wait for an official Keen Games post.

This matters because Xbox is also changing how it sells streaming access. If you were thinking of streaming PC-only survival games on a console, read our breakdown of the Xbox Cloud Gaming hour caps coming in November first. The caps may change the value of a cloud-first plan.

How much does Enshrouded 1.0 cost?

Price depends on your region. In the Indian Steam listing we checked, the base game was 1,799 rupees, or 1,619 rupees with a 10% introductory discount that ends October 29. The Deluxe Edition bundle was 2,118 rupees, and a Palworld plus Enshrouded bundle was 2,276 rupees. DLC listed was the Deluxe Upgrade Pack (499 rupees) and the original soundtrack (345 rupees).

A pre-launch guide also said the price rose on September 8, 2026, ahead of the end of Early Access. We could not confirm the old and new figures, so we are not quoting them. The takeaway for buyers is practical: if you already own the Early Access build, you do not need to buy again for 1.0, as is normal for Steam Early Access. Check your library to be sure.

Note the Palworld bundle. Both games sit in the same "build a base, survive, bring friends" space. Our earlier coverage of Palworld's 1.0 Steam player peak shows how much a clean 1.0 can move player counts, and the Palworld city-building craze shows how long a good sandbox can stay in conversation.

What do players think? Reviews and reception

On Steam, English reviews sit at "Very Positive", 87% positive from 50,039 user reviews. Recent reviews are 84% positive from 1,835 reviews. That is a healthy score for a game that changed a lot during testing.

Read those numbers with care. Most of the 50,039 reviews were written during Early Access, when the game had fewer systems. The recent-review sample is small and only just started to include 1.0 players. Give it a week or two before you treat the score as a verdict on the final build.

For context, Steam lists the game as supporting single-player, online co-op, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. It requires agreement to a third-party EULA. It supports 15 languages in total.

Can my PC run Enshrouded?

Steam lists these requirements:

SpecMinimumRecommended
OSWindows 10Windows 10
CPUIntel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500XIntel i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM16 GB16 GB
GPUGTX 1060 / RX 580 (6 GB VRAM) or Arc A380RTX 2070 Super / RX 6700 XT or Arc A770
Storage60 GB60 GB, SSD recommended

Two things stand out. First, 16 GB of RAM is the floor, not a luxury. Second, 60 GB of storage plus an SSD recommendation means a spinning hard drive may cause long load times when the world streams in. Plan for it.

Why does a 1.0 launch matter for a co-op survival game?

Early Access is a long conversation between a studio and its players. Reaching 1.0 means the studio says the core loop, the progression and the base building are ready for people who do not want to test. For a co-op game, it also resets the social clock. Friends who dropped out during Early Access often return at 1.0, because a stable build is easier to schedule around.

That is the reason we watch these launches. A game that holds a friend group together for 40 hours is worth more than a flashy trailer. If co-op is your reason to look at Enshrouded, our guide to games like Peak for co-op climbing and the top friendslop games of 2026 show where it sits in the wider field. For a lighter group pick, the physics co-op fishing game is a cheaper way to test your group.

There is also a business reason. Studios use the 1.0 date to run launch discounts, push console versions and sell add-ons. We see all three here: a 10% introductory discount, a PS5 debut, and a stated plan for paid content. Neither of those is bad. They are simply the facts of how the model works, and you should read them as such.

What does the dedicated server situation look like?

A pre-launch guide said dedicated servers are a PC-only feature for now, and that Keen Games had not said whether PS5 players can join them. We could not verify this in a first-party source. If you run a server for friends, or you plan to host for a mixed PC and PS5 group, ask before you buy. Crossplay and server rules are the type of detail that decides whether a group can play together at all.

What should you do before you buy?

  1. Check your library. If you own the Early Access build on Steam, you already have 1.0.
  2. Check your region's price. The 10% introductory discount in the listing we checked ends on October 29. Your region may differ.
  3. Wait a few days if you play on PS5. Day-one console patches are common, and the first week of player reports will show real performance.
  4. Ask your group first. Co-op survival games are only as good as the group that plays them. Confirm everyone has the platform, the RAM and the time.
  5. Skip Xbox plans for now. A spring 2027 date is not confirmed.
  6. Read recent reviews, not all reviews. The 87% score covers mostly Early Access; the recent score is the better guide for 1.0.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 QA testers authorize a strike. Activision quality assurance testers voted on October 15 to give union leaders the authority to call a strike if negotiations stall again, after more than two years of talks over a first contract, according to VGTimes. The vote landed just before Modern Warfare 4 early access on October 16, with worldwide launch set for October 23. A strike vote is an authorization, not a strike. We earlier flagged the game in our August news roundup.

Ubisoft Germany plans voluntary departures. Ubisoft told GamesMarket it has "voluntary plans" meant to encourage people to leave, so no specific job is at risk yet, but that could change if too few accept (GamesMarket). The plan is still being negotiated with work councils at its three German sites. For another look at how studio cuts spark pushback, see our report on the Xbox layoffs and the Save Our Devs protest.
